Horsebox Sauna Progress This Week

Horsebox sauna progress has taken a big step forward this week.

After a long stretch of wet weather, we’ve finally had a run of dry days at The Cyder Farm, located between Halesworth and Bungay in Suffolk. The ground is firm again, tools aren’t sinking into mud, and everything has just been easier to get on with.

With that, a lot of the smaller jobs have quietly come together.

Sauna Build Progress – Floor Installed

The rear cladding is now finished, and it’s one of those moments where the build suddenly starts to look complete.

The door is now fitted as well, and it’s brought a bit of character with it. The handles, made from deer antlers, have turned into one of those small details that really sets the tone. Natural, slightly rough around the edges, and exactly what we were going for.

Electrics Finished and Battery Installed

The electrics are now done, which is a big milestone.

A 110amp leisure battery has been fitted into a battery box under the spare wheel at the front of the horsebox. It keeps everything neat and protected, while still being easy to access.

It’s not the most visible part of the build, but it’s one of the most important.

Interior Wax and Final Coat

We finally managed to get hold of more of the white internal wax after it being out of stock across the UK.

The interior has now had another coat, and it’s made a noticeable difference. The space feels brighter, cleaner, and much closer to the finished look we had in mind.

This stage of the horsebox sauna progress is where everything starts to come together.

Floor Down – It Finally Looks Like a Sauna

Yesterday the vinyl floor went in.

That one change has pulled everything together. Up until now it’s felt like a build. Now, standing inside, you can actually picture people sitting in there, warming up, cooling off, and using it as it’s meant to be used.

It finally feels real.

Stove Delay – Launch Date Still Unclear

There’s one bit of uncertainty at the moment.

We’ve had an update from the stove supplier, and because this is a bespoke unit built specifically for the horsebox, there’s been a delay.

At this stage, we’re not sure if it will arrive in time for the planned launch on the 25th of April. We’ll keep things updated as we hear more.

Spring at The Cyder Farm

Away from the build, everything is starting to wake up again.

The first campers of the year have already been and gone. The ground is drying out after a very wet winter, and the lake is coming back to life. Carp are starting to show on the surface again, and birds are nesting all around the site.

If you’re planning a visit, The Cyder Farm sits perfectly between Halesworth and Bungay, making it easy to reach from across Suffolk and the surrounding areas.

Next Step in the Horsebox Sauna Build

The next job is the bench.

This stage of the horsebox sauna progress is where the sauna really starts to take shape internally. Once that’s in, it changes how the space works completely. It’s not just about structure anymore, it’s about how people will actually use it.

That’s the next push.
